We utilize sedation dentistry to allow our
apprehensive patients to be relaxed. Not only are they more relaxed by
breathing in this odorless and colorless gas, but time seems to go by
quicker. The nitrous oxide also practically eliminates any gag reflex
that may be present.
Sedation is like having a couple of drinks. The sedated patient knows exactly what is going on, they just don't seem to care. The level of sedation can be adjusted to a level that our patients are comfortable with. This adjustment occurs within only a few minutes. Because of this rapid response, the effects of sedation are removed before the patient leaves the dental treatment chair. Our patients are able to drive home without assistance as the effects are totally worn off at the end of the appointment. Because this allows our patients to be more comfortable we do not currently charge additional for this sedation service. There is a controller in each of our treatment rooms which has safety systems built into it, which we continually monitor.
